With MySpace, Youtube, Paris Hilton and the Girls Next Door, porn has become America’s new entertainment. With divorce, lost jobs and sexual dysfunction, pornography is fueling a new breed, the porn generation.
With a storm of media coverage, and public criticism, Mercy’s Cross Church talked sex in a four week message series entitled SexEd & Porn Sunday, in early 2009. Pastor Scott Harness addressed the explosive nature of issues surrounding sexuality & pornography. Interviews with married couples talking frankly about sex, as well as an interview with a former escort service owner are included in these messages.
Former porn producer turned pastor, Donny Pauling, and now spokesperson for XXXChurch joined Pastor Scott Harness, Senior Pastor of Mercy’s Cross, for the explosive message “America’s Dirty Little Secret”. They held a Q&A on Saturday night, ending the series on Sunday morning, also known as “Porn Sunday.”
“Donny’s message radically changed my view of the porn industry. I had held the view that porn in itself was not so bad. Donny said there is not a time when someone consumes porn that they are not contributing to the destruction of someone’s life. That ended it for me.”
